PE is one of those subjects that colleagues either love or hate. This session has been designed with this in mind and aims to dispel the myths around teaching PE. Jamie explores the role of a modern PE curriculum in developing wider skills for our students and how teachers can facilitate meaningful learning experiences for all.

CPD has been made the key priority within the new PE Premium guidance, with the onus now on upskilling all staff in order to meet the statutory requirement for the delivery of high quality PE even after funding stops.

This afternoon training opportunity will provide ECTs with:

• An overview of the primary PE curriculum.
• An understanding of the importance of PE and its impact beyond the physical.
• Practical tools to help build an effective PE session.
• Tools to build effective progression in PE.
• Advice on how to embed appropriate support and challenge in PE.
• Support with embedding assessment in PE.

NB This session has practical elements, so delegates should wear suitable clothing.

Audience: Suitable for all staff working within Key Stages 1 and 2 including those new to PE subject leadership and non-specialist class teachers wishing to improve their practice.
